Corazón del Mar sponsors two young Windsurfing talents! Rarely does something fit so well well together like the young brand "Corazón del Mar" and the two Super Windsurfing Talents Alexia and Carlos Kiefer. If you have one of the best surf spots in the world right next door Pozo-Izquierdo on Gran Canaria, and with the father an experienced surf instructor at his side, he at least has a good starting position. The rest is hard training, lots of passion and endless fun surfing. Both are already world champions in their age groups. We are proud of itf, do accompany and support them both on their way to the top of the world.
To help you get to know our two young professionals better, we have asked them five questions.
How old were you when you first got on the surfboard?
I was ten years old and my brother Carlos nine when we started windsurfing.
What makes windsurfing a passion for you?
Just being able to go as fast on the water as you want and wherever you want and the view from sea to land makes windsurfing incredible.
You are at the top of the world rankings and at such a young age, how does it feel?
It feels incredible to know that we are known. To be one of the best windsurfers in the world also gives us motivation to keep improving.
Do you already have goals, what you want to achieve next?
I will train hard over the next few years to become world champion in women's tennis sometime.
Were you ever scared when you were standing on the surfboard?
When I started, I was a bit scared because everything was new to me, but not anymore because I know that you can't hurt yourself.
How old were you when you first got on the surfboard?
I was 9 years old when I started windsurfing.
What makes windsurfing a passion for you?
High jumps are what I like to do best, and I feel as if I am flying.
You are at the top of the world rankings and at such a young age, how does it feel?
It feels good to know that apart from me, no other surfer so young has mastered these manoeuvres.
Do you already have goals, what you want to achieve next?
I would like to learn new moves and join the big boys soon.
Were you ever scared when you were standing on the surfboard?
Nah, I was never afraid of windsurfing, except at the beginning. I was always afraid of the sharks ... but now I know that we don't have them here 🙂
